Interstellar Award for Speculative Poetry
You might remember my blogging about this new competition earlier in the year. The results are in now and congratulations to Kevin Gillam and Tim Jones, who placed first and second respectively. You can read their poems on the website along with a complete list of the finalists and the judge's report.

I haven't checked, but poetry these days is not what I call poetry and I mostly don't enjoy it.
I think a lot depends on the poet, Jo, and Kevin Gillam is a clever writer. He's used a traditional structure to make something very special. At the same time, I sometimes see work by acclaimed poets and wonder exactly what they are doing because it doesn't seem like poetry at all.
